Are they demonstrative beings? Not really. They live and thrive in their cognitive domain. As one cognitive person told me, "I am so busy concentrating on my own world, I don’t have time to think about other people." On the positive side, these socially clueless people are extremely unlikely to gossip. You can tell them your deepest, darkest secrets and (1) they won’t pay attention, (2) they won’t remember and (3) they won’t have anyone to tell, if they could remember. Please don’t misunderstand; they are not callous and cold hearted. Their fundamental cerebral focus is inward, not outward.

A Cognitive Personalities are neither good nor bad; they simply are. Does that mean a CP won’t face challenges inherent to this personality type? No. For example, CPs will have communication impediments to overcome before they can bond with their more existential friends and family. With a concentrated effort on both sides, communication difficulties can be overcome or, at least, a compromise reached. As I explain to my couples in counseling, thinkers typically marry emotive people. They are speaking two entirely different languages and they must learn their spouse’s language. Cognitive language and emotional language are as different and as difficult to decipher as Latin and Swahili. Just to illustrate my point, I have written "dog" in both languages - dog in Swahili, "mbwa", and "dog" in Latin, canis. They look and sound nothing alike.
