I was thirteen years old and the family had gone down to the docks to go swimming. My brother was walking toward the other side of the lake, carrying his lawn chair, bag of chips, tackle box, drink and fishing pole as if he were going to be there all day and all night. Just as he set his stuff down, a beaver came up out of the water and smacked its head against the surface. My brother gathered everything up as quickly as he could and ran as fast as he could. He was running so fast that his knees were ahead of his entire body. We laughed so bad our stomachs hurt.

It was Memorial Day and everyone was trying to get everything done. Mom was sitting by the grill tending to the food, my sister was fixing the potato, I was doing the dishes and my brother was getting the baked beans into the oven. It was hot day and the kitchen was hot and everyone started to give me other stuff to do on top of what I was already doing. I told them to wait until I had the dishes done before getting them what they needed.

My typical day:

The first thing I do when I wake up is have breakfast, watch television and listen to music. Then, I start on whatever project I'm on for the year like a novel or a story. I have lunch, check on my mother to see if she needs her shots or something(because she's diabetic)and to fix her lunch. After I have lunch, I go back to writing. And if I get done in time, I'm reading whatever I can get my hands on. No matter how violent or suspenseful it is. Then, I watch my daily list of programming (including Adult Swim)and then I go on the Internet to check all my messages and if it gets too late I go to bed.
