I am interested in meeting a sincere, honest man who loves life and values friendship. My funniest life experience:

Well, this isn't one of my funniest life experiences, but it is one of my most recent proud accomplishments. I recently participated in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in Washington, DC. I not only had to raise over $ (I raised over $2200 by the way), but I also walked a total of 26.2 miles (yes, that is a MARATHON) over two days. It was one of the most tiring, but awarding things I have ever done in my life! I learned that I can accomplish anything I sent my mind to and that I can choose to give up my couch potato tendencies and actually like it!

I also have an eclectic taste in music. I was raised on the music of the 60s and 70s and love that as well as classic rock and Motown. I also enjoy the 80s and early 90s (reminds me of those wild college years!). I listen to a lot of contempoy Christian music as well. Not really into rap or heavy metal and I honestly don't know what is on the top 40 chart these days (although I do watch American Idol every year)

I am pretty laid back and easy going. I rarely meet a stranger and my mother always said I could talk to a brick wall and get it to talk back. Needless to say, I am pretty comfortable in new situations and meeting new people. I think if the other person just tries to relax and be themselves, it will be all good.

Of course, I am going to answer yes to this question! Honestly, I think I can be very giving and very willing to compromise as long as that compromise doesn't go against my core values.

I am over past relationships and believe I have resolved most of my past baggage. I am ready to date again and would be ready for a long term relationship with the right person. I have met people off the Internet before and have had really positive experiences. I was involved in several serious relationships that initiated online in the past and I have seen friends find their soul mates as well.

Are you ready to start from scratch?

I think I have done a lot in my life to decrease the baggage that I bring into a relationship (let's face it, we all have some). I am open to starting a new relationship and I have closure with my old ones. There are certainly things in life I am still aspiring to accomplish (paying off the small remainder of my college debt, paying off my car, buying a house, etc.) but I think those are all things that I can do with or without a man in my life.

H . perfect date experience? Not sure if there is such a thing as I think it depends a lot on the interests of the two people involved. I think coffee or a drink or a meal together would be a great way to get introduced and learn more about each other. I am not sure where to put the things I am interested in, so I figured this was as good a spot as any. I like to hang out with friends and be social, but also enjoy quiet time at home alone with another person. I love to travel and since I teach in a year round school, I have three weeks off every season of the year for such activities. I like to read, although it is hard to find the time to do that during the school year. I enjoy cooking as well as trying new restaurants in the area. I love Mexican food, Thai food, and sushi.

The future. do we really know what the future holds? I know I want to travel overseas someday. I love to travel but haven't had an opportunity to go anywhere outside the US, except the Caribbean, Mexico, and Canada. I have about 15 more years until I am able to retire from teaching, but I don't see myself doing nothing. I am undecided about the possibility of having children of my own someday and I guess in some ways that scares me. I am really torn, because I love kids and always thought I wanted my own, but I am also not sure as I get older that I want a start a family from scratch.
