People say that I am:

I am learning to be quite happy in any situation that comes my way. I have found that the only meaning that a situation has is the meaning I give it; and I have the choice to give it whatever meaning I want. My choice is always to be happy wherever I am in the moment.
I am friendly in any situation. I have the ability to make people like me from the start. I can walk into any room and simply fit in. It doesn't matter who is there, I just fit.
I can make people laugh. They tell me that my sense of humor is a bit different than they have encountered, but I am never offensive or abrasive.

Things that have bothered me:

Some people I have known can talk and talk and talk about nothing for hours without end. They never stop and ask what I may think or feel and therefore, never really know me at all. If they do ask, they may not let me finish my thought, or they may take the first hesitation I give them and simply take off again. I feel like I do not count and they have no real interest in who I am.
On the other hand, I have known people that say nothing at all. If they do, they may put themselves down all the time and criticize themselves to the point that they make me feel like I want to take them back home and let them cry in their own corn flakes.
One pet peeve I have is having a counselor. I don't mind a little input, in fact, I'd encourage her to tell me what she thinks. But, when she decides that I need help and starts giving me life lessons, I'm ready to call it a night.

I would like to be able to talk openly to her about anything. I don't like to keep things to myself, but I want to be able to trust her with the things that I tell her.
I would like her to be on my side. If she is rowing the boat in one direction while I am rowing in another, we are not going anywhere.
I suppose that I want what any man wants in a partner or friend. I just want her to be caring and understanding. I don't want a maid. I don't want a mother. I certainly don't want a counselor. I have made it very well on my own over the years. I want us to share some wonderful moments together; tender moments if it comes to that.

My funniest life experience:

I used to drive a school bus for a district in the south suburbs of Chicago. On the school buses, they have a microphone used to assist us in speaking to the kids; especially, if they are getting out of hand. There is also a camera that records the kids and is used for evidence if a kid really gets out of control. My main career used to be in broadcast television. On the bus, I would use the microphone like a radio broadcast when I was transporting them to or from school. One day, I got the bright idea to make the bus a TV show. I called it, "Mr. Mike and the Kids of Bus 20". They kept saying that it's a bus, not a TV show. I would reply that we have a camera and we have a microphone. It must be a TV show. I even came up with a corny theme song. When all the kids were on the bus, I would sing the song. You could hear the kid's eyeballs rolling even with the noisy bus.

Cool Movies:

The Wizard of Oz is my all-time favorite movie. I memorized the whole movie when I was 10 years old; music, dialogue, everything. I also love Bagger Vance, Titanic, and Hook. I love anything with Bruce Willis, Robin Williams, or Jim Carrey. I also love movies about musicians (even 40s musicians), artists, and composers (Amadeus).
I even like romance movies. Yes, I do like "chick flicks".

I will always listen to classic rock and roll. Sorry, that comes with the territory; the soundtrack of my youth, you might say. No headbanger music, just good ol' rock 'n roll.
I have expanded my music to New Age and meditation music. It helps when I am writing my blogs. Also, I can do a little classical, but I can't take that for long. I do like piano solos because I dabble on the keys myself. I have even been known to venture into country once in a while. No steady diet there, either.

When I am allowed to speak without being criticized or judged for everything that comes out of my mouth, I am more apt to open up and let a lady into my world. Some people are better at this than others. I understand that.
I am a very good listener. I make good eye contact when people talk to me. I, in turn, try never to judge or criticize. I allow a person to open up and let me into their world. I have been told that I have a way of making people feel very much at ease when they first meet me.

Are you willing to compromise in difficult times and situations?

|
I am willing to compromise. I am always looking for a way to find that happy medium. It is a little tough to pull out some of these stories. I cannot think of anything in particular at the moment. I try to be fair and forthright in every situation. I figure that the lady at my side has her own ideas and ways of doing things. I give her the right to be an individual and independant of me. I don't have all the answers and my way is not always the best way. If she has a better way to do something, I am always willing to give it a go. Hopefully, she will extend the same courtesy to me.

I am willing to meet people on this site. That is why I have come here. I have not only come to have some fun, but I am always open to meet someone special; someone that clicks with me and me with her.
I have met some very nice ladies online in the past; different times, different city. I have had some very wonderful times with some of the ladies that I have met. We have parted ways for one reason or another, but I look back on some very fond memories.

Are you ready to start from scratch?

|
I am currently not seeing anyone. My divorce is far in my past and has no influence on my life today. I have been in Sioux City for just over a year. I worked at a local TV station and was laid off. I am still here because I like the slow pace. My new job, driving a bus, helps keep me here.
You might say, I am starting new and a brand new friendship or relationship would make a great difference in my life. I have learned to enjoy living without attachments over the years, but having someone to share with would be the best. They say that you have to like living with yourself before you can successfully live with someone else. I have reached that pinnicle.

I think dates, in the early stages especially, should be more interactive. Watching a movie is fine, but how can you get to know each other? A first date might be just going out for coffee or lunch and taking it from there. This keeps the pressure off both of us and it can end at any time when the need arises.

My Wish List Includes:

My wish list is not very extensive right now. I have already fulfilled so many of my dreams. I have been a Navy Photographer, I have worked at several TV stations, driven full-sized trucks and buses of every kind, flown airplanes, did amateur radio and morse code, and rode horses just to name a few things.
I am an ordained ministerial counselor, a Reiki Master, and a Miracles Practitioner. I am a published poet. Also, I am in the process of getting a self-help book published and I am working on a book about angels.
I suppose that I would like to stop working for other companies and go into some sort of practice of my own. I have the tools and the qualifications, but have not stepped out to give it a whirl.
Parachute jumping is not out of the question.
