I have not had the experience of somebody really helping me be at ease.
I have helped others who were in emotiobnal pain, but I am still learning to relax with people and help them relax with me.
My best approach for helping somebody be at ease is (with permission) to start giving a back rub. People usually release their troubles by the time I am done.

Are you willing to compromise in difficult times and situations?

Any long term relationship is full of compromises. The key is to find parity. Either both people think they are getting at least as good a deal as the other, or you sort of trade-off who "wins".
Here is an example of a compromize tht hurt. I was teaching college and looking for a better position. Cal Poly San Louis Obispo would have been great. My (future ex-)wife said no and wouldn't compromise. Even she eventually admitted that things would have been better there.
