I am not a fighter. I can't stand arguing or bickering, nor can I contend with gossip. When there have been differences if you can't discuss things reasonably, leave me out. When situations warrant a difference of opinion, talk about it, explain your concerns and listen to the other guy's. Ultimately, even if you both agree to disagree there's closure and the incident should be buried never to surface again. Few people can understand my conception of this but, for me, it works just fine. I'm a very peaceful lady but the things I've mentioned above I have learned, are not worth the energy you put into fighting.

My funniest life experience:

When my husband was still living, every Sunday we had this little restaurant we'd go to for dinner. We had a van at that time. I usually had on a skirt and when I'd get in the van I'd run my hand down my backside to smoothe my dress [skirt - whatever]. One Sunday as we were leaving, I excused myself to go to the ladies room and said I'd meet him outside. The location of the ladies room was all the way on the other end of the restaurant. Well, I did my thing, came out, spoke to several people who we knew from there and went to get in the van. I got in and, out of habit, ran my hand down my bottom to straighten my skirt - - except - - - - there was no skirt there !!!!! Somehow, it had become tucked into the elastic on my undies and all that was showing was a bright blue pair of bikini underpanties. I knew everyone in that restaurant had witnessed this and I've never been so embarrassed in my life !!!! I don't think I ever did go back in there !!!!! Eventually it became a 'family' joke and I still laugh even today - - What an experience !!!!!

Other than "Gone With The Wind" I think my favorite movie is "Somewhere In Time" that starred the late Christopher Reeve . It was a beautiful love story and a different slant on H.G. Wells "Time Machine". I still watch it every now and then [and still weep] ! I really like that movie!!!

I have very eclectic taste in music. It goes from classical to soft sounds of the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s - I'm very much of a sentimentalist . All of my good qualities came from my parents. They were loving, affectionate, somewhat on the strict side [and I'm so glad they were], they dearly loved each other and were married for 60 some years before my Dad passed away. They were the perfect example of what adults should be. I was so blessed to be born to that wonderful, loving couple. They were educated, well respected and were quite 'social'. I was the middle child of five but their love for us was spread out equally !! I miss them - - - They never knew a stranger - a quality I picked up on. I think I kind of explained how I feel about contention in one of the above paragraphs. But, yes, I am more than willing to compromise concerning difficult situations. I can't think of any particular incident right mow but they come now and then - - - As I said, to me the worst thing that can happen the way I handle things, is to agree to disagree - - -Then, its over.

My typical day:

The first thing I do when I wake up is make up my mind that 'today' is going to be happy, cheerful and rewarding. Then - shower, make myself look as good as possible and dress - Then, I may decide to do my usual chores, read, do some kind of craft and, of course, get on the computer !!! Read news, read mail then surf the web !!! At some time during the day, I will go for a walk, talk with friends, etc. I am not particularly interested in TV although I do watch NASCAR ! Whenever I feel like it, I go to bed and read - sometimes all night ! I don't date often because I'm too selective in that department. I love good conversation, intellectual friends and people who share common interests. I don't drink coffee so there's no 'coffee clatch' - - - Actually, I'm very happy with my own presense and spend a lot of time enjoying my solitude. It would be wonderful should that perfect companion come into my life so we could build dreams together !!! We'd laugh a lot and simple just enjoy each other - - -

Strange you should ask this question - - I am so totally satisfied with my life that there simply is no answer unless its finding my life's true love - someone who just wants to be with me, love me devotedly [as I would him], spoil me a little, make me laugh and hold me tight !!!! No - I have no desire to go bungee jumping or sky diving or anything out of the ordinary. I have discovered, looking back over the years, that the really important things in life can NOT be bought with any amount of money [though its nice to know you have it]. Things like health, laughter, the beauty that surrounds us, peace of mind, love of mankind, compassion for those less fortumate, feeling up-beat about yourself, the love you have for family and friends - There are so many, many things and all they cost are your five senses - LOOK at the beauty, HEAR beautiful music. TASTE the sweetness of life, SMELL the fresh air and the salt water of the sea - then, reach out and TOUCH - another's heart - wrap them in your arms as if you'd never let them go - - - These are the things I'd wish for - - - - And not only for myself but for all mankind.
