I rendered myself unconscious at a beach party one night, many years ago, and my friends carried me down to the waters edge to put me next to a dead walrus that had washed ashore. They took compromising pictures, and left me there to wake up next to the dead beast. I still bear the psychic scars, but I did learn my lesson.

Cult classics, film noir, 60's beach party flix, etc; Breakfast at Tiffany's, Out of Africa, A Patch of Blue, More, Postman Always Rings Twice, The Graduate, Fast Times, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, and many others. I'm always open to checking out something different.

Portishead, The Mars Volta, Ether Seeds, Voivod, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, anything with a heady and lucid feel; Howlin Wolf, Brubeck, Getz, beatnik jazz/blues from the 50's/60's because it sounds so cool; Agent Orange, Surfari's, Mermen, Dale, and most surf music; Urge Overkill, Tool, AFI, Lion, Rollins, Quicksand, Zep, Godsmack, Alice in Chains, Pennywise, Ministry, Steppenwolf, etc, as there is a sensuality to the heaviness; T.S.O.L., Poison Idea, DK, Black Flag, Shattered Faith, old school punk rock - for the heat and energy of it; Varuka Salt, The Donnas, and Sarah, because they sing like angels. And on and on, etc. I love music, and enjoy discovering new stuff.

Compromise is a necessity in any healthy relationship. No person can bend completely to another's unyielding will without being changed and denied the expression of their true self. Without a balance of give and take, one person is diminished and shadowed, and a healthy bond between partners cannot exist. Ideally, the need for compromise is minimized by being well-suited; compatibility is key.

I enjoy surfing and spending time near the ocean, whenever possible. Music, film, and good conversation fill any remaining free time. Long walks on the beach, camping, sharing a film, or enjoying a dinner prepared together are some of my favorite ways to spend time together, but I am always open to new experiences and the preferences of my partner. Mutual enjoyment is more important than how the time is spent.
