I often fall into the "just a friend" trap. Although I am definitely girly, I often act and think like a typical guy, so I very easily fall into the friend category. As annoying as that can be, I like not being girly in every aspect of my life, so it's a double edged sword. I also seem to have a problem with guys getting too attached. When I'm in a relationships, I obviously love being with the person, but I am also fiercely independent and need alone time, or time with my friends. I've been with guys who hate that. To be with me, you have to understand that I do need time to myself to refocus.

I have to admit, I'm the little emo girl. Give me a beautiful male voice with a simple guitar or piano, and I'm hooked. Up until a month or so ago, I wasn't ready to start anything with anyone. I suffered from a little commitment-phobia, but I have definitely gotten over that, and I'm now ready to share new experiences with a new someone.

My perfect date? Anything that would allow us to really get to know each other. It would probably start off with dinner in a casual environment, so there isn't too much pressure. I'm a Jersey girl, so my mind is often at the beach. Therefore, the next part would be a walk along the boardwalk or on the sand, allowing time for more talking and getting to know each other. Honestly, any first date is great as long as I get to know the other person and they can make me laugh.
