I've been married before and feel that compromise is a huge part of a relationship. I don't think there's room in a real relationship for any selfishness, so you have to compromise on the details at times to keep the peace. However, I have strongly held beliefs that I refuse to compromise on. I think it's a matter of being true to yourself but also not sweating the small stuff.
