I knew a friend who personified the word "Friend". He pass away a few years ago and I haven't found a person who I consider to be a friend since. Actually I lost another good friend who died on my birthday this year. He was struggling with an open heart surgery rehab and his body just couldn't mend. He was only 47 years old.I find though my experience people don't or won't exert the effort it takes for a friendship to be viable.

Yes, if the compromise will prove to be worthwhile. To compromise to simply make a person happy, that is repeatedly soon becomes troublesome. I usually compromise or want to do what the other person wants to do. Sometimes it's a matter of taking turns with planned activities.

The bottom line, my belief is that our words and actions impact those around us; the qualities of our intentions, and the skillfulness of our actions, make all of the difference my karma is a work in progress, subject to all of my virtues, vices and passions. I'm filled with passion for many things: physical pleasure, mental stimulation, outdoor adventures, road trips, public policy, economics and investing, and psychology and personal development. Things I enjoy: Lying in bed at night hearing the sound of a train whistle off in the distance, the smell of freshly mowed lawns, fresh strawberries, strong coffee, clean sheets, colorful flowerbeds, discovery channel, a stranger's smile, grilling something good to eat, floating in a river or a pool on a summer’s day, gadgets in general, riding on the back of a motorcycle, taking a early morning bike ride in the city or in the cool mountains, standing in my driveway talking to neighbors, weekend getaways, the sound of laughter, flip-flops, people who have good grammar and spelling skills, the scent of a man, warm hands going barefoot in the sand, being retired, laughing, and exciting kisses.
