This is a difficult one. I was widowed after 22 years of marriage, so I understand compromise is necessary in any relationship. And, ocassionaly I did have to compromise on something I felt strongly about simply because we either: couldn't afford it, he absolutely hated the idea, or it just didn't work out at that time. Since I wasn't the only one doing the compromising, it just wasn't that big of a deal. Plus, he also compromised with me for the same reasons. Life is often just a series of compromised, plus, there must be some equality in any relationship, otherwise it is doomed to failure.

Are you ready to start from scratch?

Starting from scratchh I already have a job, a home and all the perks, aggravations, and responsibilties those entail. I'm looking for dating at the moment , but if it begins to head into something long term and permanant I'm prepared for that also. I'm not planning on jumping into a relationship with the first person who comes along. Having someone to share my life would be a wonderful thing, but I won't compromise my principles just to have that happen.

I fill my time with work, projects around the house, crafty/sewing projects and being a volunteer editor at an online site for (mostly) women. Anytime I have left over I use for reading, surfing (the web, not the waves), or watching the news, HGTV, TLC, PBS and the occasional CSI and Numb3rs episode.
