Remember the old "Charlie's Angels" TV show? I always liked the "brainy" one. Fluffy hair, false eyelashes, or other cosmetic enhancements don't do much for me. But I do appreciate a woman who is fit, because I'd like to share time hiking/wildflower watching and playing volleyball (my sport) or tennis (which I'm not too good at) or some kind of other sporty activities. And although I have an old but fun little convertible, which I love, I don't like to drive that much (too much traffic everywhere around here) - so finding someone in or close to Walnut Creek, CA is highly desirable.

I'm kind of a groupie for a band called the Naked Barbies, from Oakland, California (I also designed their website and their latest CD cover). The Barbies have been playing locally for about 20 years. The group is sometimes classified as Rock, or sometimes "Americana". Unfortunately the drummer moved to upstate New York, so they only do gigs now when he happens to fly out. Other musicians who get a lot of play on my iPod - Amy Rigby, Amy Cooper (formerly of Marin County, now New York), Lucinda Williams, Neil Young, Mary Lou Lord.

I'm scared of heights. I like going down to the desert (Palm Springs/Joshua Tree/Anza Borrego area) to see the wildflowers, but I chicken out every time I try to talk myself into taking the tram up San Jacinto Mountain. Maybe one of these years. As far as a "wish list" goes, there's really not much on mine. I don't have a strong desire to travel. I've already been to Burning Man. I guess that I'm still wondering about where I might want to retire to. I love my home, but Walnut Creek has gotten too urban and gentrified for me. Anyone know of a little college town with a mild climate and a botanic garden I could volunteer at?
