Friends often describe me as gregarious yet bashful when I meet someone I really like. I love to laugh & do so often (usually at myself). I am also very much into trying new things without question! I like groups of people over dinner and truly enjoy the lost art of genuine conversation! I'm fiercely loyal to those whom I love & I'm also an incurable romantic. What do I mean by that? Simply put, I love to give rather than receive! :-) Simple heartfelt gestures like a handwritten note for no particular reason, a picnic to your favorite place, etc. I'm just as comfortable in a pair of jeans as I am in a tux if you want me to take you someplace memorable.

I think what has been the biggest problem where dating is concerned is that people feel an unnecessary need to pretend to be something they are not in the beginning to simply be accepted. I am always honest and completely forthright when I meet someone. The last few times I have dated someone though has not been the case however. Each time lasted approximately 3 months and the common thread was that the other person was not honest and forthcoming. It is a challenge but I continue to hope I will meet someone who is open and honest!

My funniest life experience:

I once went on a date that ended up in the emergency room and it just so happened to be a first date. Luckily I endedup being ok but my date burned out the clutch of my car driving me to the hospital! That was fun. I can get into more detail in person or in an e-mail. LOL!

My taset in music is extremely diverse! If you were to look thru my CDs it would be hard to pin me down to one genre. I like rock, classic rock, blues, metal, classical, old school country music, bluegrass, funk, hell I even like some disco! My favorites? Well if I had to name some that I truly enjoy listening to they would be U2, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Eagles, Jimi Hendrix, The Black Crows, Bruce Springsteen, George Jones, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Van Halen, Disturbed, Godsmack, Vince Gill, Sugarland, Fleetwood Mac, etc. I could go on and on but I love music of all varieties and I especially enjoy live music whether in a small club like Ziggy's in Winston or at an arena!

I never meet a stranger and have a calm, unassuming yet naturally friendly demeanor that draws people to me. I think the one characteristic that serves me well is that I'm an optimist and always look as the glass being half full! I also try to see the good in everyone and the silver lining in every cloud!

Any relationship worth having is ultimately about compromise. In fact it is my opinion that most relationships fail because people either don't communicate honestly or they are unwilling to compromise. It is thru the difficult times that couples discover what is most important!

I'm here to indeed meet someone for a serious relationship! However, I must confess that I am skeptical only because this is a last ditch attempt after trying Match , E-harmony, Personals, etc. Internet dating is not much unlike meeting people without the use of the computer. Unfortunately, most individuals look at a photo and make a judgement based on that photo rather than read the words in a profile and try to get a better understanding of the person. I hope that perhaps this will be different! We shall see. :-)

I moved here to Greensboro back in April with regard to my work and have no ties back home such as ex-girlfriends or an ex-wife. This is an al new beginning for me and I want to find someone new and exciting to share in this new life I ammaking for myself and also for her to share her life and dreams with me as well!

The perfect date would be something out of the ordinary yet also something completely comfortable so that the two of us could get to know one another! I like more than anything to have every opportunity to talk during a 1st date but in an environment that is fun. Say for instance the fair in Winston-Salem, a ballgame, a concert, etc. The object of any initial date is to discover about one another but do so in a fun way!
A typical day in my life would be getting up at 5:30, working out or getting on the treadmill, then I check e-mail for work and then it is off to either teach a class or go to work at my office. No day is the same in my job which is how I like it! My job affords me some wonderful flexibility that others don't typically have in other jobs! I also love the fact that in my job I'm able to help people achieve success by helping them overcome their fear of public speaking.
