People say that I am:

Easy-going, witty, free thinker, fun loving, sweet, sensual. I am on the quiet side and philosophical. intelligent but not an intellectual snob. I believe in living in the NOW (and think I do so more than most do). I am a laid back guy between times when I'm enjoying physical activities. Ski in the trees without a helmet. Walk my dogs off leash most of the time (despite a couple of tickets). Like to car camp since I can have a cooler and cold beer after hiking all day. Not to mention an easy-up for the rainstorms, but avoid campgrounds. Generally prefer one on one time or small groups. I love dancing free form and am up for trying to learn salsa steps with a partner that might need patience and a sense of humor.

Intolerance, judgementalism, close-mindedness, and arrogance are a problem for me. 1st meetings with someone that is too hyper or loud and yakky to listen haven't been enjoyable to me.

The woman that I would be happy with is one that likes me as I am. She will (probably) be free thinking, not too uptight, appreciative of simple things, able to "stop and smell the roses". Tolerance is a virtue, being non-judgemental is a plus. Must have a sense of humor and a nice smile. Chemistry is important to me and I hope that a mutual attraction is important to you too. I am pretty slim and I tend to find slimmer to average women most physically attractive. Besides that I can find beauty in most women. I am very open to meeting "the one" to live together with "happily ever after" but I think that starts with just meeting and enjoying doing things (and not doing things) together without over-thinking the future. Have fun, be real, see where it goes. Some common interests and activities are important, but I have ski buddies, don't need you to want to go camping with me, will probably not want to go to the opera with you. We can still share those things we do both enjoy and be supportive and care for each other.

My funniest life experience:

Instead of funniest, I'll mention an experience I am proud of. In 7th grade home room class I had my first introduction to drugs, through a scare film about how terrible drugs are. Heroin addicts robbing liquor stores, shaking in a jail cell, etc. etc. Writing my take on it, I was the only one in the class that said drugs should be legalized, compared it to prohibition and the beginning of the Mafia. I'm proud that I could think for myself and not swallow the propaganda. I still am a firm believer in personal liberties, minimal govt. intrusion (in business too), and in thinking outside the box, not swallowing propaganda or dogma.

I am pretty flexible here. Probably fairly easy-going and non-uptight, but I might be enhanced by a partner who is more socially active and I might provide a mellow and calming influence to a more "type A" or extroverted person. And I may be the catalyst in sharing outdoor activities.

I am very willing (and able) to meet, and to be in a relationship. I don't usually care for a long drawn out email relationship before meeting. There is only so much to be learned on "paper". I'm amazed at how scared a lot of women are to actually get together. I'm not, and I'm basically pretty shy. Haven't had a "bad" experience, have had a couple of internet initiated relationships develop and am grateful for those.

We all have our pasts. I am relatively baggage free and haven't had a lot of trauma in my life for a 50 something guy. I do have compassion for others who have more "baggage" to overcome and who are busier than I am, but hope to find someone who can be open to a relationship and hopefully to Love.

My typical day:

Nothing typical other than walking the dogs, I usually soak in my hot tub in the morning. Skiing on powder days, hiking, Camping, Tuesday night Volleyball. I'm usually up by 6 though I don't have to be. I generally am at home in the evenings reading and/or watching recorded TV shows. I've recently been getting out more after discovering meetup and meetin, a couple of social networking sites.

My Wish List Includes:

More traveling, especially with my mate or a good friend. I am currently limited by my 11 year old dogs to 3-5 day trips. (My rentals need babysitting too.) I am pretty happy with my life but am always open to new horizons. Having someone to share things with, whether travel, outdoor activities, more cultural activities, and just hanging out would make my life better.
