Well in each situation there had to be at least one thing, or I wouldn't be single and vice versa. I dated a heavy drinker, and felt that I was rarely with the real person. What bothers me the most is how some people try to fit you into what they want, not who you are. My number one is people who begin a debate trying to change your mind, and then half way through get pissed at you, and act like they can't even stand you, over something that you have no control over, like a huge world topic.

I don't generally rely on others personality traits to help me be myself, however, I have noticed that insecure people tend to criticize others more, and I suppose it would be harder to be who you are if you are being chided, and criticized all the time.
I am pretty down to earth, I think that helps make people feel comfortable.

My exampleof compromise is when my ex drove around without asking for directions. He said "we're not lost until we run out of gas", he was trying to find a particular campground by memory. We had been in the car for a long long long time and I just wanted to get there. My compromise was to bite my lip (I think it bled) and let him challenge himself to find this place, I knew it was importatn to him. and he did, but it was dark out, so we had to set up camp in the pitch black, until we found a lantern, but.he found that campground, it only took hours. haha

It is a case by case basis. I am looking, but at this point I can afford to be super picky, I am heading into the Medical field, and have to watch by behavior, I wouldn't want to end up on U Tube. Good clean fun is fine, but I don't want to discuss the size of our respective anatomy :) Nor am I interested in "gettin' some". If so I would be in a bar.
It would be nice to meet a few people that live around or even far away, and when I get their way we can go out for a drink. or dinner.
