This is a tough question, I have never really had a girlfriend lie or cheat on me and I almost always end up being friends with them after. I don’t subscribe to the notion that the other person has to be a jerk, phony or cheater, we just weren’t compatible, that’s no one’s fault. There is no identifying mark on someone’s forehead telling you they are your soul mate, no cosmic magnetic force drawing you together as you pass on the street, so, you have to keep looking until you find her. Picking someone who almost what you want does not mean you have to hate her just because she wasn’t the one. The secret is to realize this fact before you end up bitter, part friends and keep looking. Secondly, you have to accept that the failure of a relationship is always a 50/50 thing, either you acted in a manner unacceptable to the other person or you put up with the behavior, things become a lot less complicated when you don’t have to justify where things went wrong.
