I'm a little shy at first, but after I get over the initial "hump" in meeting someone, I'm pretty fun to be around. I like being silly and laughing 'till it hurts. I like getting and being close to people. I love intelligent discussion, especially about movies, books, politics or religion, but I'm not fanatical when it comes to either. I'm into some "dorky" things like comics, fantasy/ sci-fi, etc. but not obsessive about it. In other words, I have an active social and intelectual life outside those interests.
I write a lot of different things, but it tends to lean towards poetry. I'm currently working on a screenplay that I hope to start production on before the year is up. I read a lot of different things too.
I try to keep things as honest and genuine as I can in my words, actions, and even my appearance (I'm only human, though). I don't try to where what is trendy and "fashionable" unless I really do like it. I'll dress up for work, or when the mood strikes me, but more often than not, you'll find me ina t-shirt (most likely with something political, dorky, or some vague reference) and jeans.
Once I get to know you, I speak my mind, and I can get pretty oppinionated, and sometimes a bit radical (with my politics especially). I consider myself a romantic realist (or maybe a moderate radical). I can be pretty idealistic, but it's not without reason or practicality. I know we live in the real world, and not in a theoretical utopia. But, as long as your beliefs are deeply held, and you can back them up with a measure of intelligence, I will respect that no matter how much I disagree.

Since I'm not in school anymore, I'm not really all that into the club/ bar scene, and I'd never want to start an office romance, I don't know how else I am going to meet new people. One of the things I would love to do is take a good friend and travel accross Europe or the U.S. with only a preliminary schedule; fly by the seat of our pants and go where our fancy takes us. But, I'm really scared to. I feel like I'm pretty laid back, but that sort of uncertainty terrifies me.
