Things that have bothered me:
Their lack of drive. Too many people are content to exist the way they are right now, and never strive for something more. I think that you have to be willing to take great risks if you want to achieve the greatest rewards.

I am looking for:

Honesty, plain and simple. I can take the truth. Life is too short to be living a lie just to be polite. Think I'm ugly, or stupid, or mean? Tell me. If you think i'm the greatest thing since sliced bread, say that, too. As long as it's the truth and you really believe it, I'm fine with that. Don't tell me everything is okay when it isn't, don't hide something because you want to be polite. Go after what you want and don't be ashamed of it. I am totally accepting of anything someone has to tell me. I find that if you listen to someone and actually think about what they are saying, then it makes them more likely to tell you the truth in the future. If you overreact and flip out and become defensive, they'll just lie to you. At the same time, I do everything I can to tell people the truth. Sometimes that means I am pretty blunt, but I will never string someone along, because in the end, that causes more problems.

Cool Movies:
I don't have too many favorites because I like a lot of movies, but I guess I can give examples of a few things I like more than others. I loved Braveheart, Saving Private Ryan, and similar military historical pieces, but I am also a sucker for romantic comedies (I really liked Notting Hill, and it has an amazing soundtrack.you've got to love Al Green). I pretty much enjoy all types of films, but I never was a big fan of horror. It's not that they're scary, just that the people act like such idiots. The last movie I saw was Transformers, which is much better than it sounds. The last foreign film I liked was Beneath the Sun, which is a pretty cool movie about life and the traps we set for ourselves within our minds.

My Favorite Groups are:

My musical tastes range all over. For contemporary music I like Andrea Bocelli, Jimmy Buffett, Shakira, Robbie Williams, Jack Johnson, James Blunt, Pink, etc., and sometimes I get in moods. I might be listening to D'Angelo and Johnny Cash one day, Modest Mouse and comedy albums the next. I tend to go through phases where I will listen to the same artist for a few weeks at a time. I don't listen to a whole lot of obscure names, and don't favor the indie music scene. Right now I'm listening to Robbie Williams and Da'ville, this reggae artist that I got hooked on in Belize.

Willingness to meet others from boM:
I think to close yourself off to any experience in life is foolish. If you go into things with an open (but aware) mind, then things will work out. I am not worried about meeting anone from here any more than I would be meeting anyone in person. As long as people use common sense, there's nothing to worry about. Shakespeare once said that nothing is good or bad, but thinking makes it so. The same is true here. I try to look at every opportunity in front of me as a chance to learn and grow. Even if I don't meet the perfect person, maybe I can grow as an individual along the way.

Are you ready to start from scratch?
I'm fortunate in that I just got back from a trip where I really had a chance to clear my head and get things together. I know where I want to go in life and what I need to do to get there. I know what kind of person I am looking for (although sometimes it may be difficult to put into words, given the complexity of a woman and elucidating that). I will be taking some very positive steps that will involve some degree of change over the next few months, and a big part of that in my mind is beginning to take relationships a little more seriously as well.

My typical day:
Well, I have basically two seasons, work and summer. As a teacher I sort of get summers off (I say sort of, because I still have to go in from time to time to get things prepped for next year and I also have to manage a bunch of things for the soccer season, which begins in late July). In the summer I try to travel as much as possible. I think you can learn a great deal about yourself when you visit other cultures and people. I've been throughout Asia and lived in Japan for a year, but in the last few years each summer I spent a few weeks in China and Central America, and this summer I will probably tour around Canada for a few weeks.
During the school year, a typical day is get up around 5 or 6, drive an hour to work, teach (I won't go into all the details of that now), then leave work around 6. I always make it a point to fill my day as much as possible with good things that I enjoy, but at times I just get lazy. I'm trying to get rid of most of my distractions to become more efficient and make the most of time, so next year I'll probably have a different schedule. I'm thinking of getting rid of the tv in my bedroom to make it a more peaceful place.
I'm trying to streamline my life right now, so I'm in the process of throwing out and sorting through a lot of old things. So that's a day in my life.
I love learning little facts and then seeing how everything connects, how seemingly unimportant details can give you a mosaic picture of the way life works. I've started to realize more that life is really made up of the connections you make with other people, and so I am beginning to make sure that my life is full of opportunities to experience new and different things with new and different people. I want to be great at my job, and I work very hard at it, but I know that if I were to disappear tomorrow, life would go on at school. I have begun to make sure I am taking more time for myself and enjoying all the things that life has to offer.
As for my idea of a perfect date, hmm, that's tough. It would have to be unique and interesting, not the same old dinner and a movie thing. Spontaneity is key, and probably something outdoors or active at the very least. I guess the date would have parts, like an active part at the beginning, followed by a little romantic one on one time at the end where I could really mentally connect with a girl away from large groups of people. Other than that, I haven't really thought about the perfect date.

My Wish List Includes:
There's not much I won't do. If I sense a challenge, I can't back down. I'm not stupid about it, I mean, if it's life threatening I'm not going to do it, but anything else that is just a question of willpower, I'll do it. So I'm up for anything. I feel comfortable with a girl who knows just how far she can push me and not go too far, but force me to keep challenging myself mentally, physically, and emotionally.
I am scared of heights, but I constantly put myself in situations to challenge that, because I know it's an irrational fear. The only two things I am really afraid of are drowning and death, which are kind of hand in hand. Drowning just seems like a particularly unpleasant way to die, and I'm afraid of death because I don't want to die without having figured out the meaning of it all.
