Ok, this isn't on topic because there are other things I want to say.
My philosophy? Life is an adventure & should be lived to the fullest. It's only been in my fifties that I realized this. And now with less time ahead of me than behind me I don't want to waste a minute.
I fled the Bay Area 11 years ago & while I visit family there I have no desire to move back. I live on 5 acres in Lake County with my Malamutt, Merlin, 14 cats (hey we have rodents!) & a couple of house-mates. We have the garden thing going. There's still some of last year's squash is in the freezer. I voted for Prop. 215.
I'm tired of the "let's get into bed, baby" line before you've even said hello. Sex to me is something to be enjoyed, savored, shared between two people who really care for each other. Sounds old fashioned? Yup.

I host a world music program, Esoterica, on the local community radio station. I feature both traditional & contemporary music. As a radio music programmer my collection is extensive. I like world music, folk, rock, old country & western, the blues, & sacred music. I own some 500 CDs plus cassettes & LPs. Here are a few of my favorite musicians (don't worry if you haven't heard of some of them): Blackmore's Night, Les Yeux Noir, Emerald Rose, Solace, Laura Theodore, Mary Youngblood, Pandemonaeon, Laura Powers, Secret Garden, Lorenna McKennitt, Ancient Future; some you know I'm sure: Grateful Dead, Joan Baez, Dylan, Blood Sweat & Tears, Janis, Tracy Chapman, the Chieftains, Nora Jones & her dad, Ravi Shankar, you get the idea.
I don't like music with a lot of irrelevant cursing, but hey, I'm a child of the 60s so I'm no prude. And yes, I really was in the Haight-Ashbury in the late 60s. Forty years since the Summer of Love!!!

I am looking for a personality like:
I love someone who is comfortable with himself, who can be funny, honest & forthright; someone who sees beyond the superficial & is willing to draw another out. Someone who can laugh at his own mistakes & learn from them. I would hope that I can do the same. Definitely someone who is looking for more than a one-night stand.
Are you willing to compromise in difficult times and situations?
Several years ago I asked my mother what kept her marriage going for 50 years. Her answer was that each person has to be willing to compromise. "We can work it out". Sometimes I compromise too much & don't stand up for myself. One of my many flaws.

Of course I want to have fun, who doesn't? I believe in taking things one day at a time & seeing what happens. A few months ago I started chatting with a couple of interesting men when my computer died a horrible death & I was off line for almost 2 months. I've been unable to reconnect with them. Hot topic. I'm not sure anyone starts from scratch if they've been in any long term relationship. You take what you've learned & hopefully it will allow you to be comfortable with someone new. What happens depends upon you & your partner. Sounds so easy on paper, doesn't it?

I want to travel. As a single mom I never got the chance to take a lot of vacations, but as my son is in his late 20s I want to do the things I couldn't do when trying to make ends meet was a challenge. I used to camp a lot, but tenting it & hikes to Half Dome are out of my league these days. I want a comfortable bed & someone to roast wieners with over a fire. It's the adventure even if we're going to a local art fair. Do you love going to music festivals, small venues & concerts, Renaissance Faires & the County Fair.
