Looking for some one to light up my life - 56 male in Portland, Oregon

I am who I am and that is who I want to be. I am a caring honest person. I am very easy going most of the time and try to live my life as I think God would want me to. I am no bible thumper but my belief in God is what it is and is strong. I do not try to push the way I believe of onto anyone. I try to understand the belief that others have in God as well. I have four corner stones that I try to build my friendships with others on they are. Respect, honor, truth-honesty and understanding. With those four corner stones in place. A friendship can grow to be wonderful and beautiful. Most of the time I do what I can to be of help to other in my life. I am not one who believes everything has to be my way. Nor do I want to ever try to own or control what another is doing. If I see what the other is doing may hurt them then I will most likely say something to them that I think what they are doing my cause them problems or may hurt them in some way. But if they think they must continue with what they are doing. I will also stay close enough to be of help them if they do fall or get hurt by what they are doing. If I think of someone as a friend I will stand-by them and give them the support they need to make their quest as long as their quest will not hurt them or anyone else. The person I am looking for to share my life with as my best friend. Has to be honest and real. I find that to many people today say what they think you want to hear rather than what is truth. All I want from somebody is the truth, nothing more, nothing less. When it comes to music, I like just about any thing. But. I'm not into rap at all and when it comes to heavy metal I'm not much into that either. Movies I like most everything there as well. But I'm not into movies like the night of the living dead, I can do without that kind of movie in my life. About sex and me, there is a time and place for sex in a relationship and it's not at the beginning. Two people need to build a good foundation between them through being best friends first then whatever happens between them physically has meaning and worth. To soon in the friendship\relationship sex will muddy the water so to speak. It well be unclear whether what they feel for the other is love or lust. The friendship must be built first, then the waters will be clear rather then muddy. While we want and expect what is between us in love to be instant. It is the one thing that must take its time to develop into the lifetime relationship that will last throughout the years that will endure all the ups and downs that life will throw at that friendship, that relationship. Oh one may know how they feel for the other and where they want the friendship, the relationship to go from the beginnig. But the it must take it own time to develop into what it is suppose to be.
